I'M CALLIE

I have been fortunate to serve thousands of tactical athletes for most of my career. From repeated 12-mile rucks and multi-day movements through austere environments to those who want to complete an Ironman or adventure race "just for fun", I've coached them all. 
 
Whether you're hitting the road or tackling the trails, I am equipped with the professional knowledge and real-life insights to help you navigate the nuances that hybrid and mountain athletes face on a regular basis AND make an epic comeback from any illnesses or injuries you may encounter. Combining my professional knowledge working on a multidisciplinary team with my own passion for outdoor sports and adventures lead to the creation of Fueling Upward LLC.
 

MY STORY

I've always pushed myself to be better not only professionally, but physically. After hanging up my college soccer cleats I picked up road running and eventually landed in the space of 'hybrid' training so I could be saying "YES!" to any and all mountain adventures. I'm on a mission to complete a half-marathon in all 50 states, summit Mount Rainier, and make the trek to summit Mount Kilimanjaro.
 
So where did integrative and functional nutrition come into my life? It all started in order for me to better serve my tactical athletes; TBI, chronic gut issues, heavy metal exposures require a lot more care than basic nutrition. When I personally experienced a massive health setback after a sports concussion followed by long-COVID, I knew there was no turning back. I'm on a mission to bridge the gap between athletes, healthcare providers, and the advanced world of performance nutrition. My specialty areas include gut health, acute and chronic sports injuries, environmental exposures, sleep optimization, and stress management.

PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

Callie has over 7 years of professional experience working as a Performance Dietitian with the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), and Division I College Athletics at Washington State University. She brings her expertise to life through realistic education and strategies that focus on whole-person wellness and longevity, while still fueling the athlete and active lifestyles of those she serves.

Callie is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD). She is also Exercise Physiologist-Certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM EP-C) and an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP) through the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy. Callie obtained a Coordinated Masters of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Exercise Physiology from Washington State University and a Bachelors of Science in Biokinetics and Human Bioenergetics with a minor in Psychology from Bethel University. She is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in Washington State and North Carolina.
